Ballet was an art form of dancing imported from Europe in the early twentieth century. The most famousinterpreter was Anna Pavlova. The superstar toured the United States several times where her Dying Swanbecame a touchstone of the art. She was closely followed by more modern companies like that of SergeDiageliev and even more adventurous, the native Martha Graham. |
